This exhibition delves into the evolution, diversity, and fascinating adaptations of bloodfeeding organisms in nature. Guests explore how these creatures have influenced humanity across time and cultures, gaining a deeper understanding of their ecological importance—and leaving with a new appreciation for the vital role bloodsuckers play in both nature and culture.
This silent video features footage I filmed and edited of Maureen Turcatel, Field Museum Collections Manager of Insects, and her interns conducting fieldwork to collect flies. For this exhibit, I also produced a series of educational videos showcasing both real and fictional bloodsuckers, along with photography highlighting the Field Museum’s extensive archives.
